Creative Ways To Prepare Your Child For Kindergarten!

Katie was not reading at all when we started six months ago. Now, she is reading everything she can and you can see how proud she is of her new ability. We loved this program and plan to do it again next year with our son.

If 51 first graders have problems reading, then 44 of them still have problems reading in the fourth grade.

Pre K Program

Prepare your Child for Kindergarten

There IS a Difference, It's integrated, comprehensive, effective and fun!

Pre K Scholars believes there are two resources with great potential to improve pre-kindergarten education: parents of preschool children and retired or inactive preschool and elementary teachers. Both are lacking one essential ingredient, an integrated, comprehensive, effective, fun kindergarten readiness curriculum targeted for home use. Prepare your child for kindergarten by investing in a pre k program that really makes a difference!

Busy parents face a bewildering array of reading readiness programs, phonics choices, early math instruction devices and computer programs and handwriting practice manuals. They must decide which to purchase, when to use them, how to integrate them, which to launch first—all overwhelming tasks for which they are ill-suited in time, experience and energy. Similarly, there are tens of thousands of currently inactive school teachers, lacking only an effective manageable curriculum they could teach in their homes, resource centers or churches.

Pre K Scholars is an innovative, research-based program easily implemented by parents and early educators.

Engages children & reaches them the way they learn.

Amy Schwary, a retired kindergarten teacher and mother of four, developed the Pre K Scholars curriculum around two guiding education principles:

  1. All students are capable of learning any concept or skill if it is appropriately presented.
  2. Children learn by doing; so learning should be interactive, inventive and experiential.

Concepts are presented in the optimal learning order.

The Pre K Scholars program is 22 weeks long and it isolates the letters and their sounds weekly for optimum understanding. The letters are not presented alphabetically to avoid predictability and rote learning. Instead, they are introduced primarily based on speech acquisition and sound development. Some letters and their sounds may be introduced together for differentiation purposes and to avoid any sound confusion. For example Y and U are introduced together because when many children identify the letter U, they automatically assume it has the "yuh" sound. Therefore, presenting them together avoids confusion and provides clarity with these two particular sounds.

Success builds upon success & reinforced for mastery.

The Pre K Scholars Program was also developed in such a way that each week successfully builds upon the next. Therefore, each week adds an essential ingredient to the whole integrated spectrum of kindergarten readiness. One example, students need to and will first learn their numbers and number values during "N week" before they can understand the concept of adding numbers together during "A week." Many basic skills are reinforced week after week to promote a quicker mastery of such skills.

All readiness skills & knowledge are integrated into one program.

The Pre K Scholars program integrates all the skills and knowledge required for kindergarten readiness: basic fine motor skills, deductive reasoning activities, basic math, basic science, reading and writing readiness, and handwriting into one curriculum. This approach frees a parent from selecting and integrating a bewildering list of individual programs directed at only one skill or knowledge base.

Pre K Scholars meets or exceeds most state kindergarten readiness standards!

Instills a sense of pride & responsibility while it nurtures & inspires.

Students are usually in a place where they are beyond the typical preschool class, but not quite ready for full-time kindergarten. They are motivated by a little more responsibility and ready to experience some academic structure. As a result, the individual "My Activities Binders" are a welcomed motivator and an optimum educational tool. The weekly home activities not only instill pride in the children and reinforce many skills; they create a wonderful opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children. It's time spent that will deliver many intrinsic rewards. Embarking on this educational journey accentuates the value and importance of a good education.

Giggles & wiggles are encouraged.

Lastly, and most importantly, the Pre K Scholars program is designed to be Creative and Fun! Children love it and look forward to their lessons. Parents love it for the many benefits it provides their children.
